FAQ

1- how often do I work out?  Actually, I don't work out nearly as much or as often as you think. I spend about 3 hours working out per week at most.  2- I must be a runner, swimmer, an athlete since youth, a dancer and a bunch of similar assumptions.  None of the above. I'm actually pretty anti-talented for sports. I tried a lot of them when growing up and sucked at all. This is why I became a trainer when I figured out how simple fitness can be. 3- I must be extremely strict with my diet to look like this. Nope again. I eat more than you can imagine. I just know how to select food properly and in what amounts. Also, I eat a lot more of the "guilty pleasure" foods than you'd imagine. I actually hate that term but it's the easiest way to describe it.  Life is meant to be enjoyed and I enjoy food, okay? There are certain principles that need to be respected that depend on each of our goals but pasta, pizza, fries and donuts can be part of your diet too all whil

Guess who's back?

I finally did it.  It was the end of April when I left him. I've spent 7 years with that man. When I realized how long it had been and how sad I actually was it made me angry. He said he doesn't understand why I am so angry with him. It makes me laugh when I think about it. Of course, he didn't understand, when he didn't actually listen to what I was asking him to do.  But that's his problem now.  I moved to the south and I'm loving this heat. Everyone keeps telling me to wait till July, supposedly I'll change my mind. We will see.  I moved all my clients online (your girl is a fitness coach remember?) and my plan is to travel a lot. To do all things I wanted to do but he held me back from doing them.  Or all the things I didn't know I wanted to do. Like skydiving.  Have any of you tried it?  I'm still a bit afraid of that. But I meet someone that does it regularly. She said fear never goes away. Doesn't that make you think? Always afraid but alw

Most important diet adjustment for everyone

In my previous post, I wrote about the shortcomings of the clean eating saga.  You can read this post here: https://fitness2thetwithdee.blogspot.com/2020/10/3-reasons-why-clean- eating-is-bs.html In this one, I'd like to focus on the most important dietary change we need to make. And explain how just "eating clean" doesn't fix all issues and manages to create more.  1- Biggest nutritional mistake is the overconsumption of calories  It doesn't matter if we eat the "healthiest" diet on Earth if we're overweight we're putting our bodies in danger. Because let's think about what actually affects people's health more.  They didn't eat enough organic food?  They were deficient in some micronutrients?  Or we see people so overweight that they develop type 2 diabetes? Their arteries get blocked and they get a heart attack?  We know damn well what's the answer to those questions. And we also know those health conditions are closely relate

I tried to explain why I don't regret my marriage many times. I always seem to come short. I don't know am I that bad at explaining things or my experience is difficult to understand in a heated CB atmosphere. Probably a combination of both. That's why I'm writing this.  There was a time when I blamed my husband for all our sex issues. He's the one with a health problem (low testosterone). While I'm the healthy and eager one. It seemed logical to me that this was his fault. It makes me laugh when people ask me did I try talking to him. Oh boy have I tried talking.  I tried talking to him nicely.  I tried jelling.  I tried crying (not intending to manipulate but constant rejection is hurtful to everyone).  I tried getting us in marriage counseling.  Made appointments for him to see doctors.  Tried having him watch helpful videos I found.  Found books, found audiobooks as well.  Suggested we go to church together.  Suggested he tries therapy, maybe hypnotherapy as

3 reasons why clean eating is bs

This is one of the most common misconceptions.  It's stopping so many people from making better lifestyle decisions. They think they have to go "all in" and give up all of their favorite foods in order to get any results. For others that can make the switch (my hat is off to you), it's still not delivering everything they want.  We're conditioned to believe that there's a certain group of "good and healthy" food to eat. And if we just stick to those all of our health, weight, or appearance goals will be met.  Truth is our bodies don't work like that. I wouldn't ever be able to stick to a "clean diet" and the great thing is I don't have to.  1- No one can even define what clean eating is. Ask 10 people and every one of them will have a different idea of what clean eating is. And when we don't know what rules to follow we don't know what's actually giving us results. What's working and what isn't? What's a

You're barking up the wrong tree

The thing that really frustrates me is how many of you have asked me how often do I workout. Or how long I workout. Or when someone confidently proclaims that I must be living in the gym and eating super healthy. As if that's what it takes to have a great body, workout every day and workout for very long. Plus eat a super boring bland diet.  I had periods in my life when I worked out every day and still wasn't getting closer to the body I wanted. The gym I workout at now publishes a list of people who used the gym most frequently in the past month and my name was never even close to being on there! But I'm still more fit than anyone on that list.  And I have to share with you why that is.  There was a time in my life when I was very unhappy with my body. I've spent more than 15 years trying out things and not getting the results I want. Finding it too hard, unrewarding and giving up. Never have I dreamt I'll have a body that I love. A body that I'm proud of. I w
